Our Banoffee is not just like any other Banoffee…
Bananas caramelised with rum sit on top of a layer of thick, buttery hand-made caramel. This is topped with a layer of caramel mousse made the French way, followed by a large Chantilly cream rosette and decorated with Callebaut Belgian Chocolate shavings. All on a biscuit base.Our Banoffee contains two different types of caramel, which are of course, like all of our products and sauces, made in our production kitchen in Carlow.
Wondering what Chantilly cream is? It’s whipped cream sweetened with castor sugar or icing sugar. (our preference). It’s sometimes flavoured with vanilla extract. Delicious on hot chocolate drinks. We use whipped cream and add sugar @10% of quantity of cream. Its very easy to make at home: Simply whisk whipping cream, when it reached soft peaks add sugar and continue whisking at maximum speed until you reach stiff peaks. Don’t over whisk as you will end up with sweetened butter and sweet buttermilk…
All products are hand-made by pastry chefs made with natural ingredients. Contains no artificial colourings, flavourings or preservatives.Shelf-life 3-4 days stored in fridge.
